The new "Bolashak" program is funded by the government of Kazakhstan and administered in the U. S. by American Councils. The new program is the most recent initiative in international education of the President of Kazakhstan and is intended to provide fellowship support to "promising Kazakh students for courses of study at leading universities around the world," according to Kazakh Foreign Minister, Toqaev, who announced the program during an official visit to the U. S. in late August.
Please Note Important Information Regarding University Admissions Timelines: American Councils will notify each student as they are admitted to a university in the U.S. As we are working to secure placements for all candidates, we are working on the timeline set by the university for the admission of sponsored students. As a result there will not be any information available about your placement at universities until late Spring. As much as we would like to provide information about possible placements during the process, we feel it is best to contact the student only after placements have been finalized.
